Chris Pratt Biography; Star of “Guardian of the Galaxy”

Chris Pratt is a well-known American actor who shot to stardom around the world for his outstanding roles in movies including “The Lego Movie,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and “Jurassic World.” He was working as a waiter when actress and director Rae Dawn Chong noticed him and gave him a part in her first film, “Cursed Part 3.” Although he always intended for something that would eventually make him famous, the debut opened the door for a career in cinema and television, which he never imagined to do.

With his television roles in the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation” and the WB drama series “Everwood,” Pratt first gained notoriety as an actor. His major break came in 2014 when he played the lead roles in two hugely popular, commercially successful movies: the computer-animated adventure comedy “The Lego Movie” and the Marvel Studios superhero movie “Guardians of the Galaxy.”  He quickly followed it up with ‘Jurassic World,’ which went on to become his most financially successful film to date after grossing $1.6 billion at the box office. With significant projects in the works, Pratt’s future as an actor appears to be sparkling and bright.

He briefly attended a community college before quitting. He started working odd jobs after that and briefly became homeless.

Career

Chris Pratt, a young man who was virtually homeless, entered the acting industry by chance. Rae Dawn Chong, an actress and director, caught his attention while he was waiting tables at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurant in Maui. She offered him a part in her first film as a filmmaker, the short horror movie “Cursed Part 3,” because of his attractive appearance and his enthusiasm.

Pratt performed in several movies while working on “Everwood,” including “The Extreme Team” and “Strangers with Candy.” He also played Nathan McCain in the television movie “Paths of Destruction.”

Pratt closed the year by playing the lead in two of the year’s top five highest-grossing movies.

Following this extraordinary achievement, Pratt received a number of accolades. He came in second place on “People” magazine’s annual list of the sexiest men alive that year.

As Owen Grady in the 2015 adaptation of “Jurassic World,” Pratt, a devoted follower of the “Jurassic Park” film series, relived his obsession with dinosaurs from his youth. The movie was a huge success, earning $652 million in North America and $1.018 billion abroad for a total of $1.670 billion globally.

The sequel to “Jurassic World,” in which Pratt once again played Owen Grady, was produced as a result of the film’s unprecedented success.
