Everyone wishes to go for the Chadar trek. It is present in the landscape of the Ladak and it is situated between an amazing scenario of Ladak. It is one of the most difficult trek in the world and most adventurous too ,because of this it is called as the wildest trek.
CHADAR TREK:
Chadar trek is situated along the Zanskar river, which is the first tributary of the Indus river . It flows entirely within Ladak. It flows between hills and mountains ,with steepy rock. This place is famous for the tourism both during winter and summer.
- During summer season,it becomes like rafty trips from Chilling to Nimmu.
- During winter season , the road of the Zanskar become like ice and the only way to go Padum is by walking along the frozen river. it is now changed as the famous trekking place and it is called as the Chadar trek (as the name suggest chadar in local language means frozen ice sheet).

Trekking along the frozen river is the most interesting thing for everyone . Most of the people in all around the world are very much interested to go for the Chadar trek. The approximate distance of the Chadar trek is 105 kilometers. A person in a trek is expected to be travel for 15 to 17 kilometers per day to complete this trek early. The temperature of the Chadar trek usually 15 to 20 degree during day time and during night time it changes into minu degree celsius ,approximately -25 to -35 degree.

Now, the question arises why it is called as the one of the wildest treks in the country?,the reason may be because of the very low temperatures or because of the walking along frozen river. But the fact is not because of these two. One of the most important fact is unlike the other trekking which is involved only by walking , in Chadar trek trekkers may leads to climb icy rocks and boulders during the journey.A person should be acquainted with walking long distances and be prepared for the tough camping.

The best time to go for this trekking is between January and February as the river shifts into frozen ice sheets and the surroundings are covered by the crystal beauty of snow. Winter season is the best time for this trekking .
