NBCUniversal’s Linda Yaccarino Steps Down As CEO of Twitter

Linda Yaccarino has revolutionized advertising by modernizing existing practices while developing innovative new approaches.

At NBCUniversal, she led their advertising sales business and helped launch Peacock, Comcast’s ad-supported streaming service. Additionally, she was very involved with her local community, serving on boards and mentoring others.

She had overseen advertising sales at Comcast-owned media giant’s portfolio of television networks (NBC and Peacock) as well as studio operations and premium ad-supported streaming services such as Hulu Plus.

She has worked at Madison Avenue for decades, earning herself the reputation as an aggressive veteran in TV’s ad sales wars. Additionally, she boasts an impressive track record in cross-selling ads across various platforms.

Mark Marshall was promoted to Chairman of Global Advertising and Partnerships as part of a restructuring in 2016 and reports to CEO Mark Lazarus who oversees TV and streaming assets at NBCUniversal. On Thursday night Joe Benarroch stated that Yaccarino was in rehearsals for Monday’s upfront presentation to advertisers and would therefore not be available for comment.

Yaccarino, who lives with her husband Claude Madrazo in Sea Cliff, New York, seems to enjoy sharing family milestones online; she currently boasts 26,000 followers on Instagram alone! However, Madrazo himself prefers keeping his personal life private online; instead he maintains a business-focused Twitter account but never shares photos from home life on his account.
