How to draw a maple leaf – allow’s acquire formed!

Step 1

When you see the leaf on the Canadian flag, it’s a simplified version of what the real leaf looks like. It has more points and details and we will focus on all these details in this guide. First, we’ll focus on the base of the leaf outline. You can use smooth lines to create the thin stem that descends from the base of the leaf, to begin with. Next, we’ll use sharp, slightly curved lines going from the stem to the left and right, and this will start the pointed outline of the leaf. Once it looks like this in our reference image, you’re ready to move on to step 2!

Step 2 – Followership, drag the sides of the leaf.

Currently that you include removed the floor of the leaf, we can perform on the flanks of the leaf in this double degree. The bars we’ll operate for the flanks will scrutinize a lot like the bars you utilized for the base of the sheet. However, the spaces between the stitches will be slightly longer, and these sides will go up vertically, unlike the base which was slightly angled. We’ll continue outlining the next few steps, so let’s keep going!

Step 3 – Currently resume drafting the leaf

By continuing where the previous lines left off, you can continue to draw more of those sharp, curved lines inward on the sheet. Once you’ve completed this step, we can complete the leaf outline in the next step before focusing on the final details.

Step 4 – Next, complete the maple leaf outline

The maple leaf is famous for its distinctive shape, and we will finish that shape for this step of drawing the maple leaf. To do this, we’ll fill in the gap that’s left in the diagram by extending a few straight lines up from where the previous ones ended. Then you can go back to using some of those sharp curved lines for the tip of the blade at the top. With this, you have finished the leaf outline! All that remains is to finish the last details and color them in, so we’ll move on to that now.

Step 5 – Now complete your maple leaf drawing.

This leaf is heavily veined, and that’s what we’re going to focus on in this fifth step. You can start by drawing a few thick lines that extend to each corner of the sheet. Then each of those thick lines will have several smaller thin lines coming out of it at different lengths to create that veiny effect. You can also vary these lines as you see fit to create your variation.

Thus, you will have completed all the details in this guide! However, you don’t have to stop here. You can also add your details and background elements to give this image your touch. This could include drawing holes or other details on the blade, or you could also incorporate it into a flag design for a Canadian flair! How are you going to complete this sheet before the final step?

Step 6 – Finish your maple leaf drawing with color

This is the last part of your maple leaf design, and for this one, you can have a little fun bringing some amazing colors to your image. In our reference image, we chose reds and oranges to achieve that classic maple leaf look. However, this is just one form to accomplish it. You can modify the shades to contain a scrap of childish or other tints of red for a rare message. Perhaps you could opt for a brown color scheme to make it look like an autumn leaf.
