INTRODUCTION:

Chopta is situated at an altitude of 2,680 meters above sea level and serves as the base camp for the Tungnath and Chandrashila trek. The trek takes you through some of the most stunning landscapes and diverse terrain in Uttarakhand. The route is dotted with forests of deodar, rhododendron, and oak trees, meadows of wildflowers, and rocky outcrops.

BEST TIME TO VISIT:

The most popular route is the Chopta-Tungnath-Chandrashila trek, which takes you through lush green forests, meadows, and rocky terrain to reach the tungnath temple, which is the highest shiva temple in the world.
